The two high schools that cover McCormick Ranch both won their state championship football games this last week.

Chaparral defeats Centennial for 5A-II title

Chaparral claimed a second consecutive Class 5A Division II football title.

Saguaro outlasts Canyon del Oro for 4A-I title

It was Saguaro’s fourth Class 4A Division I football championship in five years.

I saw this game in person at Sun Devil Stadium and it was EXCITING! Canyon Del Oro had a 27-game winning streak going into the game and 27-14 halftime lead but somehow Saguaro fought back to win 41-34. Amazing game!

“Age is not important. I don’t feel any older,” the birthday boy said.
